Passholders are entitled to a variety of bonuses, from use of shipping lines and private railways to bicycle rentals and bus transportation. The following companies will honor your railpass if it is valid in the appropriate country. Please arrange your free or discount travel bonuses locally, and be certain to always confirm that the company you are dealing with actually honors the bonus discount.

Please note that a free transportation bonus requires use of a travel day; reduction bonuses do not require use of a travel day.



Austria
  • 50% reduction on boats on Lake Constance operated by BSB, SBS, and OBB (from May to October).
  • Various reductions on boat day trips on the river Danube between Linz and Passau (Germany) or vice versa operated by "Wurm & Kock".
  • 20% reduction on boats on Lake Wolfgang operated by Austrian Railways (From May to October).

  • Belgium
  • Eurostar high speed trains link Brussels with London (England) in 2 hours 40 minutes via the Channel Tunnel. Eurostar also serves Ashford (England). Eurostar offers approximately 50% discount on full and second class fares to Eurail Pass holders. Your Eurail Pass has to be validated before the trip on Eurostar. The Pass holder firstt class reduction is also available with a second class Youth Pass. Bookings, that are compulsory, can be made in Great Britain, France, Belgium, or via any Eurostar sales outlet.

  • Denmark
  • When your pass is valid in Denmark and Germany, free crossing from Rodby Faerge to Puttgarden (Germany) operated by Scandlines/DFO.
  • When your pass is valid in Denmark and Germany, free crossing from Helsingor to Helsingborg (Sweden) operated by Scandlines.
  • 50% reduction on the ferries of ‘Stena Line’ Between Frederikshaven and Goteborg (Sweden). No discount on cabin and couchette supplements.
  • 50% reduction on the ferries of ‘Stena Line’ Between Frederikshaven and Goteborg (Sweden). No discount on cabin and couchette supplements.
  • 50% reduction on the Hjorring – Hirtshals private railroad.
  • 50% reduction on the Frederikshavn- Skagen private railroad.
  • 25% reduction on entrance fee of the Danish railway museum in Odense.

  • Finland
  • When your pass is valid in Finland, free crossing from Helsinki to Stockholm (Sweden) (via Mariehamn) , from Turku to Stockholm (Sweden) via Mariehamn and from Vaasa to Umea (Sweden) operated by Silja Line. Advanced reservation is recommended from June to August. Pass holders pay for cabin space.
  • Group/student rates applicable for the ferry crossing Helsinki-Rostock (Germany) on the Finnjet. If booked earliest 7 days before departure, 50% discount on adult normal fare in Budget or Tourist I S classes.

  • France
  • 50% reduction for Pass holders on normal fares on the ferry crossing Calais- Dover (England) operated by SeaFrance.
  • 50% reduction on the standard foot passenger fares on ferry crossings from Cherbourg and Roscoff Rosslare (Ireland) operated by Irish ferries. Advanced booking is recommended as capacity is limited. Sailing’s Operate from April to September.
  • 30% reduction on normal fares for foot-passengers on the ferry crossings from Marseille, Nice and Toulon to Ajaccio, Bastia and Calvi on the island of Corsica. Ferries operated by SNCM and FerryFrance.
  • Eurostar high speed train link Paris with London (England) in 3 hours via the Channel Tunnel. Eurostar also serves Lille and Frethun in Northern France and Ashford (England).   • Germany

An extra charge is due for the use of hydrofoils.

  • 50% reduction on the full fare of the ferry crossing from Rostock to Trelleborg (Sweden) Operated by the TR-Line.

  • When you pass is valid in Greece, free ferry crossings from Patras, Igoumenitsa and Corfu to Brindisi (Italy) operated by HML (Hellenic Mediterranean Lines) and Blue Star ferries. In July and August, a US $20 High season surcharge must be paid. Port taxes are extra.
  • When your pass is valid in Greece, free ferry crossings from Patras, Igoumenitsa to Ancona and Bari (Italy) operated by ‘Superfast Ferries’. in July and August, the equivalent of US $20 high season surcharge must be paid. Port taxes are extra.

  • 30% reduction on the normal fare for day crossings of ferries operated by ‘Color Line’ between Kristiansand and Hirtshals (Denmark) and between Larvik and Frederikshavn (Denmark).
  • 30% reduction on the Myrdal to Flam on the Flamsbana private railroad.

  • Portugal
  • Free ferry crossing from Lisboa (Terreiro do Paco) to Barrerio operated by Empresa Soflusa.

  • Spain
  • 20% reduction on the ferry crossings operated by Trasmediterranea:
